2023 Canada Day celebrations

Come celebrate Canada Day with us during our popular annual event on Saturday, July 1!

3:00 p.m. Contests at Davies Park

  • Blinged up Bikes
  • Snazy Strollers
  • Pimped up pets
  • Wild Wheelchairs

3:30 p.m. Parade

The parade begins at the corner of Ainslie & Westminster South and makes its way up Westminster to Parkside to end at Strathearn Park.

The parade will be made up of local community groups, dignitaries, pipes and drums and more. Contest participants will also have the opportunity to be part of the parade!

Sections of Westminster Avenue will be closed as the parade moves up to Parkside. Traffic will be redirected on Ballantyne and Brock for the duration of the parade. Check out the parade route and plan your trips accordingly. 

4:30 p.m. Festivities at Strathearn Park

Music by the Fundamentals, dancing, cake, BBQ, beer tent, pony rides, petting zoo, inflatables!

Look for special appearances in the park by Imagicario LES KAKOUS, The Kakous, two puppet characters inspired by a fictional biodiversity, invite you to an encounter where fiction meets reality. (Presented by CAM en tournée)

New this year: There will be 4 different access points to enter Strathearn Park:

  • Percival walkway
  • Northview/Parkside
  • Strathearn/Parkside
  • Strathearn (around No 235/236)

To ensure a safe environment for all, glass bottles are forbidden in the park. It is also forbidden to bring in any alcohol. Alcohol will be available for purchase on-site.

10 p.m. Fireworks at Hodgson Field 

The day ends with a beautiful fireworks show at 10 p.m. at Hodgson Field. Bring your own chairs and blankets to sit on.  

In case of rain, the event will be postponed to July 2 (no parade nor contests)
