Dog licences

Licences are required for all dogs and renewable on January 1st each year. Dogs must wear their tags at all times. Dog tags help Public Security return unclaimed dogs to their owners as well as grant access to the municipal dog park. Unclaimed dogs without tags are considered abandoned and turned over to an animal shelter.  

  1. Fill out the application form below to renew or apply for your dog licence.
  2. Once your application has been reviewed and approved, you will receive a confirmation email indicating the exact cost of your permit as well as detailed instructions on the different payment options available to you. 
  3. The permit may be paid for electronically, in person at the Town Hall service counter or by mail. 

Fees

Residents

  • Sterilized dog: $25
  • Non-sterilized dog: $50

Non-residents

  • Sterilized dog: $75
  • Non-sterilized dog: $100

Required documents

  1. Certificate of sterilization (for the discounted rate)
  2. Certificate of rabies vaccination (only necessary if your dog will use the dog park)

APPLY FOR A DOG LICENCE

Cat licences

Licences are required for all cats and are valid for the life of the animal. The permit is free for cats that have been sterilized and the permit fee will be refunded if a kitten is neutered within six months of registration.

Register your cat online by filling out the form below. Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive a confirmation email indicating the exact cost of your permit (when applicable).

Fees

  • Sterilized: Free
  • Not sterilized: $15
