As part of the ongoing construction work to improve safety at the Montreal West Station, which began this spring, exo will undertake a major work block between August 11th and 19th, 2022.
This phase of the project will consist of extending the existing tunnel under the tracks and connecting it to the new station building under construction on Sherbrooke Street. Once completed, this section of the tunnel will allow direct access to all station platforms without having to use the Elmhurst and Westminster level crossings.
For this work block, whose schedule will be exceptionally extended over 24 hours, the contractor has obtained the necessary authorizations from the municipal authorities concerned.
Construction Schedule*
- Schedule: The work will take place from August 11th at 10pm to August 19th, 2022, at 11pm
- Work time: 24 hours
*Exceptionally, if the situation requires it, the work may continue beyond the scheduled days.
Possible inconveniences
Although every effort will be made to minimize the impact of this work on the quality of life of local residents, certain inconveniances are expected, such as: noise from generators and construction machinery, vibrations, dust, lighting and truck traffic on Sherbrooke Street.
