The ongoing Canada Post strike may cause delays in the Town of Montreal West’s sending and receiving of documents. We therefore encourage residents to communicate by email or phone and to use electronic payments whenever possible.
We are monitoring the situation closely and will adjust our communications as needed.
MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
As part of the elections, two documents are sent to residents leading up to the polling day: the notice of entry on the electoral list and the reminder card.
The delivery of notices of entry on the electoral list, which allows each person to verify their registration on the electoral list as well as the accuracy of the information shown, is carried out by the Town of Montreal West instead of Canada Post this year. This is being done in accordance with the directive issued by the Directeur général des élections du Québec (DGE) on September 30, 2025.
For residents living in apartment buildings where access to mailboxes requires a key, it will be necessary to pick up your notice of entry at Town Hall during opening hours (Tuesday to Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m). Exceptionally, the service counter will be open to the public on Monday, October 6 as well.
Although it usually does so, the Town is not required to send out a reminder card. The decision on whether to proceed with its distribution will depend on the progress of negotiations at Canada Post.
Making sure your name is on the electoral list
You can check you are registered on the provincial electoral list on the DGE website (on the French site only). If you are registered on that list, you are likely also registered on your muniicpality’s list, unless you have requested not to or have recently moved.
For any questions, contact Town Hall by completing the Contact Us form online and selecting General information.
