A recent inspection of the Town’s municipal water network, revealed the presence of a large water leak near the South-West corner area at the intersection of Curzon Avenue and Westminster Avenue North.

As a result, urgent work needs to be conducted on the water main pipes in this area. Work will be starting on Monday November 23, 2020 in order to reduce water losses and avoid further damage to the municipal infrastructure.

Work will consist of excavating the targeted area, replacing the damaged pipes and deficient pieces, backfilling and asphalting. An interruption in the drinking water service will be required during the day on Monday tentatively from 8am until the afternoon. It is possible that the water service may be interrupted for a longer amount of time depending on the severity of the break.

Traffic circulation will be affected in this sector during this time. Here are the important things to know:

  1. Westminster Avenue N. will be closed in the South direction between Nelson and Milner streets.
  2. Signs will be installed to safely direct the traffic towards the detour roads.
  3. Temporary parking restrictions will be required in the sector. These will be installed on Sunday, November 22 2020.

Work duration could range from 2 to 4 days.
