The Town of Montreal West is pleased to announce the completion of a transaction with U-Haul for the sale of lots 6 569 238 and 6 569 239 from the Québec Land Registry. The sale took place on January 15, 2025, and marks an important milestone in the Town’s economic and strategic development.

These lots were acquired by the Town in 2022 under the Highway Act following the redevelopment of the Turcot interchange. The Town and U-Haul have agreed on the sale of these lots, allowing the company to expand its location on Boulevard Montreal-Toronto.

This sale is in alignment with the Town’s strategy to broaden its tax base, a key objective of its strategic financial plan. It also supports the establishment and growth of local businesses. The transaction which amounts to $1.4 million, will allow U-Haul to invest tens of millions of dollars in the construction of a brand-new building, aimed at significantly expanding its operations at this key location along Highway 20. The project is expected to be completed in the coming years.

“We are pleased to support the economic development of Montreal West as U-Haul further expands within our territory, ” said Beny Masella, Mayor of Montreal West. This transaction is an excellent example of how the Town successfully balances economic growth with increased tax revenue, while supporting the growth of thriving businesses.”

“We are very excited about our upcoming project,” said Tracey Higgs, U-Haul Area District Vice President for Eastern Canada. “Working with the team from the Town of Montreal West has truly been a fantastic experience. The town’s collaboration and support has been instrumental in shaping this project. Our combined efforts will enhance the services that U-Haul provides, creating a positive impact for the people of Montreal West. We look forward to a great outcome that will emerge from this collaboration.”
