The federal Cannabis Act comes into effect on October 17, and whoever is concerned has to know one’s rights and obligations with respect to what it changes. On the other hand, in Montreal West, the Town Council has adopted a by-law in order to further limit the public consumption of tobacco and cannabis as well as vaping. Its provisions are largely based on those restrictions that are set forth in the applicable legislation of the province. This municipal regulation will also come into force on October 17.
