Category : Environment
May 14, 2025

The Town is making it easier for residents to dispose of hazardous materials safely and responsibly. A special collection day will take place on Sunday, May 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Public Works (250 Bedbrook Avenue), offering residents a convenient way to dispose of household hazardous waste, unwanted electronics, and used tires.

Household hazardous waste (HHW)

Once again this year, residents are invited to safely dispose of items such as paints, solvents, batteries, and other toxic materials.

For a full list of accepted types of hazardous waste and a description of the procedure to follow, visit the Hazardous Household Waste & Ecocentres page on the Town website.

Drop-off procedure:

  • Bring proof of residence on the island of Montreal.
  • Organize the waste into containers and put them in the trunk. Make sure that the products are well organized in waterproof containers and separated from each other. For example, pool chlorine must be kept separate from other products.
  • When you arrive at the front of the line, turn off your vehicle and open the trunk. The waste will be retrieved directly from your trunk by an employee.
  • Remain in your vehicle whenever possible for safety.

NEW ! In partnership with the Recycle My ElectronicsMC program, residents can now recycle old or broken electronics. All electronics collected will be sent to certified primary recyclers in Québec for safe, secure and eco-friendly processing.
