Each year, the Town of Montreal West undertakes different infrastructure projects across Town. Here you will find a list of the major road work projects under way.

As with any large-scale project, there will be some inconvenience during the work and we appreciate your patience and understanding. We are convinced that the short-term inconvenience will be minimal compared to the long-term benefits.

Citizens’ responsibilities

  • For your safety, we urge you to follow worksite instructions (fences, barricades, etc.) and to respect all temporary detours and signage.
  • You must inform Public Works if you require direct access to your property during the work (moving, delivery or transportation, etc.).
  • Inquiries, comments or complaints must be communicated directly to the field supervisor or to the Public Works Department.

Reconstruction of Fenwick Avenue
Work in progress

  • Reconstruction of the sewer and water systems
  • Replacement of the roadbed, sidewalks, streetlights and fire hydrants

Work began on July 6, 2021. Temporary water lines will be installed and connected to all affected homes. Excavation will begin after the temporary water lines are installed.

CONSTRUCTION HOLIDAY: Work on Fenwick will be suspended for the Quebec summer construction break. This break is part of the project schedule. During this period, Bell Canada plans to perform work on the underground telecommunications network in this area, particularly at the intersection of Fenwick Avenue and Broughton Road.

The entire project is expected to be completed by mid-October.

During this time, the street sections affected by the work will be closed to traffic, especially during the day. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
