Come on out on July 1st to celebrate Canada Day and enjoy our activities and entertainment.

Canada Day Parade

The popular Canada Day parade is back this year! Westminster will be partially closed to traffic for the duration of the parade. Check out the parade route and plan your trips accordingly.

  • Pre-parade contests at 3:00 p.m. at Davies Park
Come dressed in your best and bring your decked out bikes, strollers, wheelchairs and dressed-up pets! There will be lots of prizes from local merchants to be won.
  • Parade starts at 3:30 p.m.
Includes Montreal Pipes & Drums, Highland Dancers & much more! Parade will go north up Westminster, turn around at Edinburgh School and end at Strathearn Park for the Canada Day BBQ!

We’d like to thank the wonderful volunteers from the Parade Committee for organizing this event.

Strathearn Park activities

Activities will begin at 4:00 p.m. at Strathearn Park. Music by the Fundamentals and dance performances by AKO & Children of Chemistry and the West-Can Folk Performing Company will keep you entertained all afternoon. Enjoy kid-friendly activities such as inflatables, arts & crafts, face painting, water slides, a petting zoo and pony rides! The splash pad will be open to keep kids cooled off. BBQ food and beer will be available to purchase during the event.

Please note that some of these activities are paid activities.

Fireworks

The day ends with a beautiful fireworks show at Hodgson Field at 10 p.m. Bring your own chairs and blankets to sit on.

To ensure a safe environment for all, glass bottles are forbidden in the parks.

In case of rain, festivities (except for the parade which will be canceled) will take place on Monday, July 2nd
