The Town of Montreal West is proud to announce the installation of a new electric vehicle charging station located in the municipal parking lot on Westminster Avenue. The Town has taken a step to join a collective global effort to make vehicles greener and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Residents will have access to a double pedestal charging station that can charge 2 vehicles at the same time, at a maximum of 240-volts each. The hourly rate for charging a vehicle is $1 (tax included), billed by the minute, and is based on the length of time the vehicle is connected to the charging station, not on the charging time. For example, there will be a $2 fee if a vehicle is connected to a station for one hour and fifteen minutes, even if the vehicle was completely charged after one hour. Please note that normal parking restrictions apply.

The Town of Montreal West is doing their part to help fight climate change by aligning themselves with Quebec’s 2030 Energy policy that aims to promote a sustainable transition to a low-carbon economy. With the deployment of public fast-charging electric stations, the Town is recognizing the importance of an integrated approach to smart city management and providing their residents with the tools they need to reduce their transportation emissions.
