The COVID‑19 pandemic will remain graven in the history of Québec, and will leave a huge scar in the lives of many citizens. In order to honour the memory of the victims of COVID‑19, the Gouvernement du Québec is organizing a national day of remembrance, to be held on March 11, 2021.

This day will give the Québec population a chance to take some time out and to pay tribute to the victims of COVID‑19, as well as to their family and friends. It will also be an opportunity to acknowledge the invaluable support of all the occupational groups and members of civil society who are on the front lines to fight against COVID‑19.

Beginning in the morning, a national half-masting of the flag of Québec will be observed at all public buildings of the government, of municipalities and of Québec government offices abroad.

A ceremony will take place, between 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m., in the forecourt of the Parliament Building.

At 1:00 p.m., the entire population of Québec will be asked to observe a minute of silence.
