Updated information is available at https://montreal-west.ca/en/resident-services/coronavirus/.

The Town of Montreal West is following the City of Montreal’s lead and has closed its sports facilities as a preventive measure following the latest updates surrounding the coronavirus.  The Legion Memorial Rink and the Davies Park chalet will be closed to the public as of Friday, March 13, until further notice. As well, all sports and recreational activities (including rental activities) held at the following buildings are cancelled:

  • Community Centre,
  • Town Hall,
  • Legion Memorial Rink,
  • Curling Club, and
  • Davies Park Chalet.

The Town Hall and the Community Centre will remain open to the public. However, the Town recommends that non-essential travel to public places be avoided. At all times, residents may contact the Town by telephone or through the Contact Us form on our website.

This is an evolving situation that the Town of Montreal West is monitoring closely. Further communications will be shared on our website and by e-bulletin.

“In order to ensure the safety of our citizens and employees, the Town of Montreal West has chosen to err on the side of caution and to follow the preventive measures taken by the Centre de coordination des mesures d’urgence de l’agglomération de Montréal. We thank you for your understanding.”

– Beny Masella, Mayor

We’d like to remind you of the following personal protective measures to help reduce the risk of infection or spreading infection to others.

  • Wash your hands often with soap under warm running water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Use an alcohol-based hand rub if soap and water are not available.
  • Practice proper cough and sneeze etiquette and cover your mouth and nose with your arm to reduce the spread of germs.
  • If you use a tissue, dispose of it as soon as possible and wash your hands afterwards.
